The Story Behind the Craft:
Kinusaiga is a modern textile craft inspired by traditional Japanese kimekomi doll-making, which dates back to Edo-period Japan. Craftsmen originally tucked remnants of antique silk kimonos into hand-carved paulownia wood. Today, this "no-sew patchwork" technique breathes new life into textiles, transforming simple fabric pieces into rich, textured works of art.
